EuroDisneyland officially opened to the first ticket paying Guests at 9am on 12th April 1992 with a grand dedication ceremony.
The day began with Mickey Mouse and Michael Eisner, CEO of the Walt Disney Co. arriving on the EuroDisneyland Railroad to welcome the world and present the first Family to buy a ticket for the park with a life time pass. The family then joined Mickey in the Main Street vehicle Fire Truck, which was driven my Michael Eisner to parade towards the Castle for the Dedication Ceremony all followed by the EuroDisneyland Marching Band.
A full orchestra and Choir were present on the Castle Stage playing out the opening fanfare music as Michael Eisner, Roy E. Disney, Robert Fitzpatrick, CEO of EuroDisney joined Mickey Mouse and the Ambassador of EuroDisney, Sabine Marcon on the front balcony of the Castle to declare the park open. Surrounding the castle were Aurora's Court and Fanfares on Castle hill as well as on the stairs of the Castle turrets truly bringing the regal setting for this historical moment. Children surrounded the base of the castle and were joined at the drawbridge by Disney Characters.
As the music reached a climax doves were released and the park was officially open!.
