The 4th edition of the Run Disney 5k took place on Friday 20th September at 8pm departing from the start line at the Disney Events Arena with a celebration of animals linked to the summer Lion King and Jungle Festival. The pre show this year featured a live broadcast across the resort with roaming reporters and a Guest apprearance from the Genie (this years Challenge Medal Character) to warm the runners up.

Once underway runners made their way through the Disney Village into the side entrance of the Walt Disney Studios and backstage into Disneyland Park and Frontierland for the first meet. Lots of furry Character were out along the course to meet as the run continued through Frontierland and into Adventureland before entering the Walt Disney Studios via the backstage routes.

The finish line this year was adjusted due to the closures in the back of the park with the home straight via Hollywood Boulevard and past Studio 1. Finishers were greeted on stage by the VIP's at Production Courtyard in their Run Disney outfits to wave the runners across the line before collecting their Lion King themed medal.
