First held in 1987 at the Disneyland Resort, Minnie's Moonlit Madness is a cast member exclusive, after hours scavenger hunt that has evolved into one of the resort’s most beloved traditions. Over the years, Minnie Mouse has appeared in themed costumes tied to the event’s mystery storyline, with her now iconic Detective Minnie look becoming a favorite of the night event. While detective themed versions of Minnie date back at least to the 1990s, the bright yellow trench coat outfit is offten paired with a magnifying glass and investigator accessories. The look first appeared around 2014 specifically for the event’s puzzle solving theme and is not part of Minnie’s standard park meet 'n' greet wardrobe, making the yellow detective coat a special, event exclusive costume.
