Kenai used to be a human, but since the events from the 2003 animated movie 'Brother Bear' he was transformed into a bear and later decided to honor his totem and stay a bear to take care of bear cub Koda who is like a brother to him. After the movie came out Kenai and Koda use to meet guests in Canada, at Epcot and at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They were also seen in Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. They were also part of a special show and meet and greet in California until 2011 where they were replaced by characters from 'UP'. They still appear in US parks sometimes and Paris for special events from time to time.
