Mother Gothel is the wicked and manipulative woman in Disney’s Tangled who retained youth for hundreds of years by singing a special song to a magical, golden, flower with healing power. She kidnapped princess Rapunzel from the palace when the flower’s powers were transferred to her hair and pretended to be her mother for 18 years. Mother Gothel acted as her overprotective mother, protecting her from the cruel outside world, to keep control over her. Because of her manipulative, abusive and even murderous nature, she rarely makes appearances in Disney parks.
