DLR - Sleeping Beauty's castleDLR - Disneyland Resort California

The heart of Disneyland is Sleeping Beauty's castle.

Based on the famous Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, it quickly became the symbol of Disneyland and the Walt Disney Company. Did you know this castle was built before the movie 'Sleeping Beauty' premiered in movie theatres? Walt knew how to promote his latest films, so he asked Aurora if he could use her story as centre piece of his new themepark. And she was happy he asked!

You can easily visit this castle and even explore the inside of the building and discover the story of Aurora, Philip and Maleficent in their own walktrough. At night this fairytale castle is used as display for different nighttime shows, but during the day it serves as one of the most photographed backgrounds of the world.

Take your time to explore, find all the hidden gems of the castle and be sure to have your photo taken in front of it! But don't touch a spinning wheel, you never know what could happen!
