As the leader of the gorilla troop in the jungle, the world got to know Kerchak in Disney’s animated films Tarzan. His wife Kala adopted a human baby she called Tarzan. Although Kerchak seemed mistrusting and aggressive, he’s a very protective gorilla. At first, he was stubborn in not accepting the new family member, but once Tarzan saved his life, he no longer disapproved of his adopted child. Kerchak is a gigantic, powerful and short-tempered gorilla, but towards his family, he is fatherly and caring. His priority is living in safety. Kerchak died at the end of Tarzan in the arms of his human son.
