The Mad Hatter has always been a bit…yes, you guessed it: mad. However, there’s a human side to the strangeness of his character. His real name is Tarrant Hightopp and he comes from a family of hat makers, therefore he himself became one too. He’s part of the rebellion against the Queen of Hearts because she nearly destroyed and killed his whole clan. After this event, his sanity has been shattered. He was devastated and something in his mind was broken, hence he detached himself from reality and developed a split personality. Mad Hatter’s orange hair is the result of mercury poisoning. From time to time, you might see Mad Hatter visiting a Disney park.
