Cards
Background
The Card Soldiers are the obedient servants of the Queen of Hearts in Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. This military force made up of cards became famous in 1951 and was based on the card soldiers from the 1936 short Mickey Mouse Thru the Mirror. The cards always obey their Queen, although more out of fear to be beheaded than out of loyalty. The cards can fold on top of each other. When not on military duty, they also serve as croquet hoops to the Queen. Because of the serious nature of their occupation, they can sometimes be seen in Disney parks, fulfilling their only goal: serving their Queen. This is also the reason why they don’t do meet-and-greets with fans, they are too busy serving the Queen of Hearts.
