Sersi is a member of the alien race known as the Eternals. The leader of the Celestials, Arishem, sent her to Earth 7000 years ago to protect humanity from the Deviants and she stayed after they were eradicated. Throughout the centuries, she developed a relationship with fellow Eternal Ikaris and even got married to him. Sersi learned to love humans and live among them, even finding new love after her husband Ikaris left her. After centuries of non-interference, she decided to protect Earth against evil forces.
