When can we do this again? Right now on EveryCharacter.com !!
Following a hugely successful debut at Hong Kong Disneyland an updated version of the "Paint the Night Parade" was introduced to Disneyland in May 2015 joing the celebration line up for the 60th Anniversary of the Resort and soon became a fan favorite.
Paint the Night at Disneyland borrowed from the original concept and added even more Characters and floats including the all new "Frozen Fractals" float featuring Frozen Characters. Tinker Bell was joined by Friends from Pixie Hollow leading the front of the parade with Peter Pan a top the famous Main Street Electical Parade drum homage. Other differences included 3 huge puppets of Tigger, Lumiere and Genie as well as an expanded "Candlelight Dreams" section with Cinderella and Rapunzel joining Belle. Puppets of Nemo and his Dad, Marlin were added as well as Jessie joining the dancing Cowgirls ahead of the "Toy Story Electric Rodeo" float. The Little Green Alien float was also added using the original float from the Toyko Disneyland Jubilation Parade.
The parade also used "made wth magic" products with Guests able to purchase a magic paint brush and interact with other brushes to change colors on command with pixie dust sounds. They did not interact with the parade Characters and floats as seen during the parade stops at Hong Kong Disneyland. This version did not include parade stops.
The first season of this high energy parade started at Disneyland Park on May 22nd 2015 ending on January 8th 2017.
The parade did return to the Disneyland Resort on April 13th 2018 and ran unti November 7th of that year but this time in Disney's California Adventure Park as part of that years Pixar Fest. The parade did have some challenges due to the high level Red Trolley power lines in DCA and as such the "Frozen Fractals" float was replaced with a new Incredibles float, which joined the parade in June that year to coincide with Pixar Pier opening and the release of The Incredibles 2. "The Little Mermaid Electrical Water Colors float" was also adapated to reduce it's height due to the DCA parade route limitations.
Following the parades run at DCA fans have been asking "when can we do this again" ever since and it looks like 2025 will answer that question for the 70th Anniversary of Disneyland!
