Mickey Mouse was born from Walt’s imagination on a train ride from New York to California. Mickey started his career in 1928 in the first synchronized sound cartoon: Steamboat Willie. He then became the most famous cartoon character of all time, starring in numerous shorts films and television shows. Mickey's first appearance was for the Charlotte Clark doll company in the 1930s and the Ice Capades in the 1950s, but it’s really with the opening on Disneyland in 1955 that Mickey fully stepped off the drawing board and met his fans on a daily basis. Since then he has toured the world in various shows for Feld Entertainment and was at the opening ceremony of every single Disney Park to date. Since 1992 he has had the ability to open his incredible imagination to his fans in the nighttime spectacle Fantasmic, performed on a daily basis in California, Florida and Tokyo. Most recently he starred in a series of shorts for Disney XD. He also finds the time in his busy schedule to visit every Disney Park worldwide almost everyday and to appear in countless shows and parades. He was the first ever cartoon character to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 3rd, 1978. He is a symbol of love, dreams and optimism.
