Moana is a 16 year old wayfinder, who gets chosen by the ocean to journey across to sea to save her people and the world. She is a good-hearted and headstrong hero of the people of Montunui. Even if her parents, Chief Tui & Sina, try to restrict her from the sea, she is determined to restore the heart of Te Fiti and save her people. Her sidekicks include Pua the pig and Hei Hei, the ever so clumsy rooster. Moana is drawn to the sea, because her anchestors were voyagers. The voyaging stopped when Maui committed the crime of stealing the heart of Te Fiti, filling the seas with monsters and demons. Grandma Tala has the heart in her possession and Moana is the chosen one to restore it. As her dying wish, Grandma Tala wishes that Moana restores the heart of Te Fiti. The spirit of her grandmother guides Moana across the seas to Maui's Island. Despite Maui's selfishness, they manage to work together and face Te Ka and restore the heart of Te Fiti. The godess revives the dying islands and Moana's deed has restored the safety of the sea. Moana becomes the chief of Montunui and people of the village break out the anchestors boats to revive voyaging.
